Berlin to Bainbridge
Let’s. Fucking. Dough.
Simple. Sourdough. Scratch.
Blood, sweat, and a whole lot of dancing. This is how we humbly began, and this is how we will humbly dance into the sunset … but not yet.
Sourdough Social Club is a love letter to the days when a local spot was not only a safe place for kids to go and do homework, but the neighborhood spot their parents would come for a nightcap. A place of community where the food and neighborhood shine brighter than the chef, and where it’s the star of the supply chain, not shackled by it. It is because of this we have chosen to start with markets, because markets are the community.
We are professional bakers, pattisieries, chefs, and hosts. We founded three restaurants in Berlin, trained with master German bakers, and cut our teeth for James Beard winners, in Michelin starred kitchens, and with chefs spanning four continents. After nearly two decades abroad, we figured it was time to come home and show Washington what we have been cooking.
Surpise never tasted so good.

Collaborate or die
“The less distance between plate and seed, the better.”
A final dish is just one destination in an agricultural supply chain that starts with a relationship between the seed and the earth. Fueled by knowledge spanning generations of families, history, and craft along the way. Every person in this process matters, and we aim to collaborate with the best.
Who supplies us is integral to our foundation, and it is why we are proud to partner with local producers …

Our knives are for hire to do pretty much anything our equipment access allows us to.
We will be very honest about event sizes and current permit restrictions. (Sorry, this is not Europe)
We are currently looking for markets to call home.

The people that make us may be someone we befriended on our journey abroad, a young aspiring chef from your town, or a professional we met interested in doing something different by people who know what that means.
“It’s simple, because it’s who we are.”
